HAVE YOU HEARD?

In 2017, pastors and leaders in the Ohio Ministry Network unanimously voted to increase the meeting capacity of Heartland to develop more leaders and disciples. Under the Ohio for Jesus initiative called “All Things Are Possible,” the campaign launched in 2019. Despite pandemic interruptions, Phase 1 construction of the Buckeye Ministry Center began in 2021. We are so grateful to the Ohio churches and individuals who have donated their time, prayers, and finances to support this vision.

In the summer of 2022, with the completion of Phase 1, we started using the six much-needed breakout rooms that can host up to sixty people per room. These rooms can be conveniently configured into multiple formats of up to two rooms, each accommodating 180. In addition, an attached lobby area can be configured to seat 300 people and boasts an additional supply of men’s and women’s restrooms! These additions are providing even more space and flexibility for conferences, retreats, and camps and open even more possibilities to host events at Heartland.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Phase 2 is on our radar, and the strong support of all of our leaders and congregations is essential. This phase includes a multipurpose auditorium adjacent to the lobby that will seat twice as many as our existing Oakwood facility. This arrangement revolutionizes Heartland’s capacity and flexibility to host multiple gatherings for worship, training, prayer, and ministry. No more turning students and adults away from events where space is limited!

Each of the 1,600 chairs in Phase 2 represents a life that God will transform. It makes it possible for one more salvation story, one more healing, another Holy Spirit baptism, another call into missions, church planting, children’s ministry, or other Kingdom vocation. Imagine all the eternal testimonies taking place in just one chair over the course of a summer of camps or a season of retreats. Envision the impact of that chair over a decade or more. It’s incredible!

We can do this together if we each “Grab a Chair!” It would be so smart for us to see all 1600 chairs sponsored in advance. Ohio’s churches and leaders have the opportunity to sponsor a chair with their gift of $5,000. Thankfully, multiple Ohio churches have already grabbed a chair, some 5, 10, or even more! Individuals from Ohio and beyond are doing the same. The beginning of Phase 2 with depend on the responses received. By faith, how many chairs will you grab? How many lives, churches, and ministries could you impact with your investment?

WHAT’S THE PLAN?

  • Let’s sponsor all 1,600 chairs in advance and invest our funds in lives as opposed to costly interest and inflation.

  • Every gift of $100 or more will be recognized with an engraved brick that will pave an area around the building.

  • Every gift of $5,000 will be recognized with an engraved nameplate on the back of a chair.

  • All prior and future gifts contributed over the course of the All Things Are Possible campaign will be recognized in the same fashion.

An Update from Pastor John Wootton

We are excited to see the completion of Phase One construction of the new Buckeye Ministry Center at Heartland! We cut the ribbon and officially opened the beautiful breakout facility on June 20th, 2022. The brief video of this dedication and ceremony featuring general superintendent Doug Clay and our Ohio students is available on our Facebook Page.

Youth and Kids Camps used Buckeye for after-service meetings and breakout sessions. This past July, Family Camp finally had all students in one nearby building with separate rooms for different age groups. The leaders will gladly tell you what a huge blessing it is to have the space our students need! Now, we are looking forward to what phase two will mean for our churches, camps, and other gatherings at Heartland.
